For more than a century was a major manufacturing city. Paper mills, safe companies, automobile parts manufacturers fueled the small city along the Great Miami River. Beginning in the 1960s those factories began closing, transforming it into the classic Midwestern Rust Belt city.
Many in metropolitan Cincinnati know little about Hamilton and have little reason to visit. As a result, the incredible effort of Hamilton to find a new role and new identity in the last decade has gone largely unnoticed.
