is a cultural region in the eastern United States; its varied inhabitants settled in the hills and mountains of southwest New York to northern Alabama, Mississippi and Georgia. In Cincinnati, there is a strong urban Appalachian population ? more than half a million people ? along with deeply-rooted traditions.

Along with that also comes some unique struggles such as preservation of the culture and job availability.
