WVXU has covered the pandemic's impact on the Tri-State from the very beginning, when on March 3, 2020, Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine barred spectators from attending the Arnold Sports Festival in Columbus over concerns about the virus, even though Ohio had yet to confirm a single case of COVID-19.

Barriers go up to allow outdoor dining along Vine Street in Over-the-Rhine.

Ohio Governor Mike DeWine has begun allowing restaurants that meet certain guidelines to reopen for dine-in service as of May 21. Joining Cincinnati Edition to discuss the reopening are CEO Britney Ruby Miller; and President and CEO Jason Vaughn.

Plus, the city of Cincinnati has begun closing parts of 25 streets in Over-the-Rhine and Downtown to make room for more outdoor seating at local restaurants. We'll discuss the restaurants who are now offering expanded outdoor dining and when other neighborhoods could see this option with Kelly Carr; andDirector of Communication Joe Rudemiller.

And of Cleveland releases its "Healthy Restart Playbook" with tips for businesses on safely reopening. We'll discuss with University Hospitals pediatric critical care physician and Medical Director of the Pediatric Sedation Unit Joan Zoltanski, MD.
