UPDATE: Andrew Marcum is behind bars:
Andrew Dale Marcum...
— Richard K. Jones (@butlersheriff)
Butler County Sheriff Richard Jones is known for thinking outside the box. He has billed the Mexican government for nearly $1 million dollars to deal with undocumented immigrants. He has a tourism video 'welcoming' drug dealers. Now he is using social media to communicate directly with wanted criminals.
Jones featured wanted criminal Andrew Marcum on the Sheriff's Facebook page in his "Warrant of the Week."
You'll notice in the comment section, Marcum, wanted for burglary, safe cracking, abduction, assault, domestic violence and criminal endangering, was the first to respond. (this account is consistant with the mug shot picture and bears the name "Andrew Marcum")
The Sheriff's Office didn't waste anytime, asking Marcum to come in for questioning.
Then other police departments weighed in.
Hundreds of responses later, Marcum defended himself again on Facebook, by telling the sheriff's office, "That's my juvenile record so know what you're talking about."
Sheriff Jones got another dig in on his Twitter account.
Hey Andrew Marcum we've got your room ready...
