DVR Alert! Fox Sports Ohio will replay Pete Rose's record-breaking hit No. 4,219 game at 7 p.m. Monday.
A replay of the entire game from Sept. 11, 1985, will lead off FSO's special coverage of Rose being inducted into the Reds Hall of Fame and having his No. 14 retired during the Reds-Padres series June 24-26 at Great American Ball Park.
Rose singled to left field off San Diego Padres' pitcher Eric Show in the first inning at Riverfront Stadium to pass Ty Cobb as baseball's hit king. (Don't be surprised if the Rose statue erected next year outside Great American Ball Park is placed in the Rose Garden east of the Hall of Fame building, where Pete's hit landed.)
Jim Day will interview Rose for a new "Spotlight: Pete Rose." It airs in two parts, before and after the 1985 game Monday.
FSO also will provide extended live pregame shows to telecast the Rose and 1976 Big Red Machine reunion ceremonies, "as well as feature various guests in the booth during the games to talk about the celebration," says Kate Zelasko, FSO public relations director.
