Owens, 22, was attacked on social media by people who confused him with Owen (no "s"), who operates Sandbox Entertainment and Monument Records in Nashville.
Owen opposed the appointment of Huckabee, former presidential candidate and Arkansas governor, to the Country Music Association Foundation board of directors. "To Huckabee's credit, he reached out and wanted to get Jason on the show," said Fred Anderson, Owens' publicist. Owens taped the Huckabee show Tuesday near Nashville. He was interviewed by Huckabee, and sat in with both the house band and the musical guest, the Oak Ridge Boys.
Huckabee airs 8 p.m. Saturday, March 10, on TBN.
Owens will host a viewing party at Smokin' This and That BBQ, located at 10020 Demia Way in Florence, KY, starting at 7 p.m.
