You may not recognize the name , but you have absolutely heard his music. He鈥檚 had songs recorded by Barry Manilow, Kool and the Gang, Blood Sweat and Tears, and many others.
He鈥檚 been music director for The Carpenters AND Frank Zappa and the Mothers of Invention. He鈥檚 written the scores for movies such as Gettysburg, Twins, and 27 Dresses. And he鈥檚 recorded 11 solo albums. This accomplished musician was born in New Jersey, but studied music at the He is returning to CCM on Sunday, January 27 to present a concert of his music at the Corbett Auditorium. He鈥檒l be accompanied by CCM鈥檚 Philharmonia Orchestra and Jazz Ensemble. Randy Edelman joins Mark Perzel by phone in this extended interview to discuss his time at UC, his long career, and Sunday鈥檚 concert.
