UC is denying a report this evening that head football coach Butch Jones is leaving the university. Citing a source close to the negotiation, the is reporting that Jones is taking the head coaching job at the . But Assistant Sports Communication Director Jeff Geiser says the reports are false.
During a news conference in Cincinnati on Tuesday Jones skirted questions about whether he was staying or going and at one point said he would end the news conference if the questioning about his job status continued. Jones also said he intended to coach UC in the Belk Bowl December 27th.
The Denver Post reports that Jones was offered a 5-year contract worth $13.5 million.
